The Annual Sleepy TeepOver

The boys had a their annual sleep in the teepee the night after Thanksgiving and shooting their guns the next day. Yeah. The girls (me and my mommy) brought the kids out and we all ate dinner in the teepee. The kids loved it. Then instead of the men staying out and braving the cold. They came in and watched a movie. Jamey took his two boys home to their beds and I put my kiddos to bed and finally the men went and slept outside. I must say that I was a little surprised that Kenny didn't come climb back into bed with me in the wee hours of the morning. But he is a tough man. My mom made a yummy dutch oven breakfast and then they headed off to go and shoot their guns. I must say I am kind of glad that I'm not a man.

Thanksgiving 2011

We were so greatful this year to have Thanksgiving with Kenny's family. It was so nice to get together with the family. We had a great dinner and then we played apples to apples. I loved spending time there and my boys did as well. I really really loved that grandpa Dave took Tucker while we played games. He got him to take a nap. So sweet! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving as well!

Screw Up!

As I was cleaning my bedroom, Colton was sitting and watching TV on my bed. I sat down for a quick little break hoping I could keep working on the scarf I am crocheting for him. When his little head turns to look at me with a finger up his nose. His face suddenly distorts in pain and he starts to cry. I see blood and think to myself "great he scratched his nose and now it is never going to heal", so I run grab a box of tissues. We make it through about three bloody kleenex but he is still crying and having a fit. So I grab him and look into his nose to see how bad of a scratch we have on our hands. And that is when I discovered that my son had put a screw up his nose. Yes. You did read that right. He found a small screw and for some reason unbeknownst to me, he decided to stick it up his nostril. Luckily there was family here to help me. Hayden held him while I pulled the screw out with a pair of tweezers. Now he is quietly watching Dinosaur Train. I looked all around my bedroom for anymore loose screws and oh boy do we have a story for when his dad comes home.

8 Months Old

Tucker is 8 months old today. I cannot believe how fast the time flies. I haven't done any posts for Tucker like I used to do for Colton. You know the ones. After doctor appointments, posting his stats and things about him. Well, Tucker doesn't have a doctor appointment again until he is 9 months so you might get his stats then.

My favorite thing about Tucker is his smile. It lights up his whole face. When I walk into the same room with him he will look up at me and I see that beautiful smile that comes out even in his pretty blue eyes. It makes me feel so special to be His mom and to know that smile is just for me.

Tucker is great at doing an army crawl. He scooches around everyone looking for trouble. His newest trick is to pull himself up to everything he possibly can. He is always trying to stand up. I am afraid I might have another early walker.

One of the greatest sounds to my ears in the morning is listening to Tucker growl. Every morning he wakes up growling and within a few minutes it turns into laughter. Usually because his growling wakes up his brother who loves to make him laugh.

Tucker has been giving me kisses lately. Big slobbery baby kisses. They are so sweet (and disgusting at the same time) He also gives me very tight hugs when I come home from work and scoop him up in my arms I will almost always get a tight hug from him.

He loves his brother. Colton is usually making him laugh. They giggle together a lot. He also loves to get on his brothers nerves by scooching over to Colton's trains and messing them up. Fortunately for me Colton is usually pretty good about moving his trains and getting another toy out for Tucker.

Tucker is such a great addition to our family and I love him so much. He is so sweet and always brings a smile to my face. I am so glad that I have this sweet baby in my life.

Isn't it amazing to go back and look at all your pictures from the past. I stop and think about how little I truly knew. I was just a little high school girl excited to go to a dance with her boyfriend. I had no clue what the future would bring.

Happy Halloween

Well, Halloween is over! Trick or treating is done!!!! Colton really enjoyed trick or treating once he figured it all out. But at first he was more interested in getting over to Grandma Sherrie's than anything else. In fact we only stopped at two houses on our way. He did make a great Thomas the train. And when we got to Grandma Sherrie's he played with trains.
Tucker was a very cute Jack-O-Lantern. A very tired one at that. He would not take a nap that day and about 20 minutes into trick or treating he was out.
We ended the night with cousins coming over and a major goose egg on a two year olds head. I have never seen a goose egg that big. I will admit I was freaking out and I even cried. Now it is just a big bruise.
Halloween in now over, candy has been confiscated and hidden, and now we get ready for Thanksgiving.

Pumpkin Carving

Carving pumpkins is definitely not my favorite thing about the Halloween season. But we did it anyway. I carved Colton's jack-o-lantern so that the mouth was train tracks. He loved helping pull all the pumpkin guts out. But that was all that he was interested in. As soon as we were done he went back to playing with his trains. Kenny always carves really great jack-o-lanterns. This year it was a cool skeleton. I do love looking at everyone jack-o-lanterns. I just really hate carving pumpkins.
