Tub Time

I believe my son is a water baby. He loves water!!! Baths, swimming whether it be in a cold lake or at Grammy Jo's kiddy pool. Bath time at our house is his favorite time. His baths usually run from 10-20 minutes. He hates getting out. Last night while the water was draining, he got onto his tummy and was playing in the water. So naturally I snapped some shots. So enjoy!

Ward Camp Out

We went to our ward camp out this weekend! We had a lot of fun. The campsite was just north of Kamas above the town of Marion. Not sure if I spelled it right. It was beautiful and really nice. There were flushing toilets and showers with hot water, which I didn't use but really wanted to.We went up early with the Argyles to help set up. There wasn't a lot of set up so we had time visit. It was nice getting to know people in our ward better. I felt really bad for calling lots of people the wrong name. I'm really sorry Kristen. I called her Rebecca Vandersteen. I am so embarrassed. I went to high school with her and I called her the wrong name. Her name is Kristen McCabe. We made them camp by us. Then I guilted the West's into coming up. We even shared our tent with them; even though I'm sure they'll never do it again. We stayed up until 1:00am talking(Jan and I) and we slept until about 3:00am that's when Colton woke up screaming. He screamed for about an hour while we walked around trying to get him to calm down. Which he finally did after some medicine and a father's blessing. After that I couldn't go back to sleep. But while I was up I learned that some people from our ward with falconry licence had brought up their goshawk. So we were able to see it hunt that morning. It was cool!!! I helped with the breakfast. I cooked all the pancakes. Then we packed up camp and headed out with the Wests to go to Jordanelle. Big Mistake!!! There was a triathlon going and we were stuck trying to get out of Kamas for an hour. Then we couldn't even get into the lake. So we tried Deer Creek. Which was only allowing 17 more boats onto the water but wouldn't let Kenny park our truck because we had a trailer. So we ended up driving through Provo canyon to Utah lake. We had lots of fun on the water but had to head home so that we could go see Hayden's band Date-Less play at the park. But that is a different post for next time. Tune in another time for pictures and video if Date-Less. Anyway, we all are exhausted but glad for the memories! P.S. We got to see Bob and Jamie's new arrival, Myrrie Annelie Goudy. She is so beautiful and tiny. Thank you guys for letting us come over so late. The Wests getting ready for bed.
Me helping with breakfast. Thanks Chris for taking this picture.

The McCabes. Not the Vandersteens. The goshawk and the Fords.

Family Campout at Whitney Resevoir

We just got back from an really great family camp out. We were at Whitney Resevoir in the Unitahs. It was lots of good people, good food, and good fun. All of my family was there except for my older brother and his family; they couldn't make it because of work. Hopefully next year they will be able to come. The food was amazing! My mom cooks the best dutch oven food in the known universe. We hardly ate any of our snacks because we were so full from her cooking. :D We took our dog Zip with us and on the last day an eagle came diving in at him, luckily Kenny noticed and chased it away. He was a major food beggar. He was your bestest friend as long as you had food in your hand. We had a couple of pretty cool storms. During one of the storms the thunder was so loud that it scared Colton and Zip. I was pretty nervous since Ken and Hayden were out on the bikes during the storm. My mom brought lots of fun stuff for us to do. We made our own shirts, we made quilt blocks(the quilt is going to be given away at Christmas) we made star bracelets, rock necklaces, and some of us even painted rocks. The boys went paint balling, shooting, and fishing. My dad caught a pretty decent size fish. I even tried a tiny little bite. Fortunately Zip liked the fish better than me. I saw two bull moose while out riding my four wheeler. I am still mad that I didn't have my camera with me.I was too busy having fun to take a lot of pictures so enjoy what I do have. I have to say the only crappy part of this trip was sleeping on an air mattress that kept deflating during the night. And of coarse packing up camp. But that is the worst part of every trip.

Six Months?

Just a quick run down of Colton's six month check up. He weighed in at 14lbs 2oz. He is 25 inches long and is in the 10% in weight and height. While we were in our room waiting for the doctor; we let Colton play with the big toy. You know the one made of wood with the twisted wires and blocks that you can move from side to side. He was pretty enthralled with this new toy it kept him busy the whole time we waited. Right when the doctor came into the room he had pulled him self to a standing position so he cold see the toys on top. He is so amazing. He loves to sit, he rolls over almost flawlessly. He loves food, he loves drinking water out of big people cups. He is learning how to drink out of sippy cups. He has a new cry when he wants attention, it's very irritating. And now he has started a major power struggle about going to sleep and staying asleep. But he is the greatest baby in the whole world. He loves to swing in the swing we borrowed from Marinda. He sits up and helps rock the swing. I am going to post a video. So enjoy.

A Dream Come True

Colton and Gage hanging out while Jan and I are riding.

I love horses!!!!!!!! I always have, I always will. So when my friend calls and says the horses came over for a visit you want to come over; I say I'll be over in a minute. Three minutes later... I got to ride T J all over 1500 S and 1100 W. It was so awesome!!!!!!! It's been two years since I have been on a horse. I really miss it. I am a little sore today and need to do some stretching but I am still on a high from it. Thank you Keith and Jan!!!!
