We're going to the Zoo......and the Dicovery Gateway

We had an awesome Thursday with the Townsends. We went to the zoo to see the cute baby elephant. And I must say that I have never been through the zoo so fast. It was awesome. It wasn't very crowded because so is in session. And with Colton in a stroller and Ethan on a leash we weren't having to chase kids around. By the way, as soon as Colton is walking I am definitely getting one of those back pack leashes. Anyway, the baby elephant was adorable. She stayed by her mom for most of the time. The monkeys were fun. They were more active then I usually see them. There was a cute baby snow leopard, three tiger cubs, a baby giraffe. And a really cute orangutan who was showing off for us. He would swing on a rope and hit the window. It was lots of fun. We rode the train. Colton passed out before we got to the train so he slept the whole ride. Then we headed to the discovery gateway(aka the new children's museum) Colton is now starting to really enjoy it. He loves the balls, and the water, and now that he can crawl he liked the toddler place. There is also a dog house with some fake dogs that he really liked. We got balloon animals and our faces painted. And when we finally got home I thought for sure Colton would need a nap. So I gave him a bottle and put him down. Ten minutes later I can hear him talking. So I go into his room only to discover he has thrown his binky across the room and is busy chatting to his stuffed animals. So two hours later he finally took a nap. Man he can really go.

Crappy Week

Have you ever noticed that when bad things happen they usually all happen at once? Yesterday we came back from the store to discover that Puddles had attacked one of our chickens and one has disappeared. Fortunately my dad was able to to some amazing stitching on the chicken that was attacked and so far she is still alive. Then Kenny's truck has been having trouble staying running. From our house to the gas station and back in died five times. So this morning he asked if he could take my car to Checkers to get some parts for his truck......it wont start. So here I am posting a blog. Thank goodness that my parents have an extra vehicle we can borrow. Thank you soooooooo much. My only hope right now is that our injured chicken survives. And that my family stays healthy.

Eggs

Last night after Kenny got home he went to check on our chickens, and found two eggs. I was so excited! After all these long months of taking care of these foul smelling fowl we have finally seen a reason for it all.

Seven Months

Here I am sitting here watching my amazing husband giving my son some juice. Those two are so cute together. It always makes me happy to see them. This past week I was sick with a really bad cold. I was too tired to really do anything. I slept a lot. Luckily for me Kenny doesn't work on Thursday and Friday so he helped me out with Colton. I am feeling much better today and will actually be able to help out with my little boy. He is so amazing. Today he is 7 months old. I honestly cannot believe how fast time has flown. It seems everyday is he is learning something new. He constantly surprises me. He loves to scream. My neighbor decided it was just to hear his own voice. He loves swimming and bath time. He loves animals. He loves trying new food, trying to drink whatever I'm drinking. He likes to sit in the cart at the store like a big boy. But best of all he loves his mommy.....and his daddy.
